My theory is they fall into some kind of time warp. They are waiting on us on the other side.
Actually it’s a metamorphosis, like moths and butterflies (and most insects). They migrate into the closet and change into wire clothes hangers.

Okay, folks. I’m sorry to go all logical on ya, but lost socks has been a problem for me for years. I bought those mesh laundry bags which (if zipped) ENTRAP the socks throughout the laundry cycles. VICTORY!
They don’t pay the ransom!
