Never appreciated the buddy system in Vietnam for leech inspection.I had an (underage) girlfriend named Leech. Came out of a coma (momentarily) to hear her and her mother making wedding plans. “Ship me over, Sgt Major, I don’t want to leave the Corps.” Six more seemed like a second compared to a leech till death do we part.
Reminds me of a very funny sequence on Prairie Home Companion with the UMinnesota Golden Gopher mascot complaining about not getting respect from the other mascots.
