Not to mention the clubs that are still “selective” about the “type” of person they would allow to join.I was invited to join the one here — even though I don’t play golf — but declined when I found out about some of their restrictions.Surprising in this day and age… and disappointing.
When we got cable for the first time, I actually thought 2 golf channels was a joke, I couldn’t imagine1 full time channel. I wish we could go back to “57 channels and nothing on” – now we have 570 channels and you guessed it………..
Golfers and wildlife coexisting – bears on the back nine, squirrels stealing balls, geese trying to hatch balls, cougars playing tag with golf carts, eagles playing catch the ball in mid-flight. Yeah, they coexist quite nicely. ¨:)
When I was getting certified in Municipal Recreation Administration, it was mentioned that golf takes more land per person playing than any other recreational activity – exceeded only by yachting and aerobatics, which don’t take place on land.
From what I’ve observed, golf courses are loaded with wildlife. When a golf course about three miles away was torn up for development, all the critters moved elsewhere, leading to a surge in the skunk population where I live. Took a few years for the skunk population to stabilize to its original level.

I’m sure the golfers love coexisting with the skunks that used to live in the woods! Especially when they hit one with a ball!!

I used to think that I would like to learn to play golf until I discovered that it is mostly for over educated egotistical narcissist.
