CO2 traps seem to work pretty well, so if not all of it, it certainly seems to be a large part of what they’re attracted to. Of course those only help if you want to hang out in your backyard, if you want to go for a walk you still need a can of Deep Woods Off. I think a lot of these warnings here in FL about West Nile virus and dengue fever are a lot of hype but still better safe than sorry
The docs thought my daughter had fibromyalgia. After four months, it turns out she has Lyme’s Disease. It’s a nasty bacteria carried by ticks. Watch out when outdoors and around other furry animals which attract fleas, ticks, and mosquitos.

Many insects are attracted by specific colors. Citronella bracelets rubbed all over, even your hair, work very well for repelling mosquitoes.
