Mr. F nervously complains, "The bus leaves in 2 minutes! You scoured the mall and didn't find a single student?!" Miss Phelps, looking a bit nervous as well, says, "Not one! Did you?" Mr. F replies, "No!" Mr. F goes into hysterics, "Why is this happening to me? I'm doomed! My teaching career is over! 25 years of dedicated ser-" Luann shows up and call, "Mr. Fogarty?" A sweating Mr. F asks, "Luann!! Where's the rest of the class?" Luann answers, "We're all on the bus. Why are you guys hanging around in here?"

That actually happened on a field trip I was on once; we were all in the bus, waiting for the driver though

Our field trips were always at the mercy of the fairy system. Permissions slips said “Return times are scheduled at [whatever time] ferries permitting.”
