Am I the only one who was expecting a pun?

I don’t think Phillip is all that perfect! After all, he spells his name with two L’s, where one is perfectly sufficient and etymologically more proper. Tooooot!

I just made that up but it has a nice ring to it, no? OK maybe a buzz.

It looked like it was leading to a great Pastis pun…..(sigh……)

I wonder if he hired a tooter to teach him to play.

As I read this I was trying to figure out the bad pun that was surely coming.

I kept trying to figure out the anticipated pun too, as I read along … guess the joke’s on us !!!

Jojo was the name of one of the crocs in an earlier strip.

Look on the bright side, Jojo. Someday that African nation will build an atom bomb and cause an international crisis that wipes out all life on earth. And boy won’t Phillip look foolish then!

I am totally against violins in comics. Kids may be reading these, so Pastis should not put violins in his strip. Pastis can stick that up his kazoo!

How touching that our dear departed Crocodilian Jojo has been memorialized by neighbor Bob in naming his nephew. The two share a common level of ability.

Little Phillip reminds me of those Dos Equis commercials, starring The Most Interesting Man in the World. Does his mother have a tattoo that reads “Son”?

Apparently some schools these days offer Advanced Placement (AP) classes for students trying to get a head start on college. These count more than regular high school classes, so getting an “A” in them can lead to a GPA higher than 4.0.

Maybe he got a 4.6 GPA because Jojo was doing the math.

I too was waiting with great expectations for a lovely Sunday Pun. Alas! ’Twas not to be.

However, it does take me back to when I was a founding member of the first revived University of Chicago Marching Kazoo Band to take the field after 70 years—well, truth be told, the first ever.

And probably the last, considering how we sounded.
