Who needs a list? I read everything I can get my hands on. Always have.

as a librarian, i find it very amusing when the kids come in the last week of august and are SHOCKED to find the book they need is checked out.

I remeber way back they assigned the whole 8th? 9th? grade class to read -Rebecca for the girls and Treasure of Sierra Madre for the boys ( stupid to split us up huh? now you know how long ago that had to be.) I had already read both. I offered to read something else but that didn’t fit well with their group discussions plan. Such a problem child.

I never had a required summer reading list, and I typically read the required reading a year or two before it was assigned.Usually if a school assigns summer reading, they send the list to the parents so the kids can’t hide or lose ’em.
