Good for you.

Hubby and kid are pretty much a buzz kill!

You should be proud Elly even if it is at the bottom of the page.

There’s a reason most writing teachers tell their students not to discuss or show their writing to friends and family!

Bottom of page four is great for a first story!

To them, she’s still wife and mom. She needs to go to her girlfriends to get the compliments she’s looking for.

@Miserichord (Minor nitpick from yesterday): the strip is from 1982, not 1986. If you’re interested in what was available in 1982, this has a timeline going back to 1970, and if you pick a computer, it shows (perhaps incomplete) pricing information for models (and competitors) under that brand.But even that’s somewhat misleading. A 1982 computer with the memory capacity of what you’re using to read this probably wouldn’t fit in the room you’re in, and that doesn’t include the space needed for the cooling technology. It cost a lot more than $5,000.

I do that from time to time.

I can soo relate to this strip!

Sometimes when people simply shrug on something good for the family member, they do this kind of act.

@Rasczak- a casual remark muttered while walking away with a blank facial expression hardly seems to qualify as a “sincere compliment”, especially when it comes from someone you count on for support and encouragement. Elly can sometimes come across as whiny and selfish, sometimes even nasty- but on this one she deserves better.

I know the feeling, Elly – definitely give yourself a pat on the back!

Thank goodness these are just cartoon characters!!!
