verne: were the balloon critters all adopted RJ: not all. RJ: he had to release a few into the wild. verne: there, there, hammy. It'll be all right.... we can only hope they find others of their kind and are able to survive. wheeeee!
Our little ones always get ballons when can be found. they keep them for a short time and release them to heaven to visit there dead grandparents. Our 18 month old chews a hole in the mylor baloon as soon as possable and drags it around untill nothing is left.

The lifespan of balloon animals, both in nature and, sadly, in captivity, is short in any event.No wonder Hammy looks so inconsolable in panel 2.
