Hahahaha. I grew up in a largely Taiwanese community and all my friends were Taiwanese, they totally told me about growing up like this! And also about being told they’re fat a lot when they weren’t (I believe however it was indicated that this particular angry little girl is Korean though, unless I’m mistaken)

Is this really funny somewhere? This may be the reason so many girls settle for 3rd best.

This strip started out as “Angry Little Asian Girl”. But it soon became clear that Asian girls weren’t the only ones that had these experiences.

Wow…

Mom meant her attitude was ugly.

“Perhaps, but I am also proof that apples don’t fall far from the tree. And you’re mean. I’ll bet I can get pretty before you can get nice.”

Is this an example of when it’s actually ok and probably better if the kid run’s away to a circus?

That mother is guitlty of verbal abuse.. It’s not funny.

The little girl doesn’t look crushed she looks rebellious…… different cultures. A good lot of us will always be working on what went on with our mother/daughter relationships, and a lucky few will actually get beyond it all. I hope I can before retirement age!

Oh, I think i’m beginning to see the point in all this.
