Good morning, Vagabonds. It 2:28 AM. It’s raining heavily and windy but Irene isn’t due to arrive until a few more hours. I’m on high ground and keeping an eye on my balcony door which is by my bedroom to make sure everything will be OK. I’ve brought the light stuff that may be blown away into my bedroom.

I can’t believe New York without subways or busses and no strike.

PS I just finished copying my VHS tapes to DVD. I combined several VHSs to 1 DVD and then labelled and numbered them in an email addressed to me. The highest labelled number is 572.

Good morning Village..We woke to rain this AM, but it’s calmed down now. It’s not fooling me, It’ll be back..Yes Arye, a very good idea, we’ve taken all the plants and other lite stuff off of the porch..If you look at my avatar, the black dot on the Vermont state map is Albany my home town. I’m not shore how hard we might get hit, Irene’s track is expected to go up the Connecticut river valley, the east side of the state..All right, got to get ready for church.Later..\\//_

Good morning, Villagers,.Looks good for both Arye and dkram…..It appears most people took the warning, and stayed home or evacuated as told to..NY without mass transit???? When I was about 10 years old, we took a trip to NYC, and were told that we would have no traffic if we drove the city on either Saturday or a Sunday. And, they were right! NO CARS at all on the week end. I’m sure that has changed!

Irene has come and gone and it’s calm!@Dkram: I have fond memories of visiting my great aunt Ida in Burlington. A few years ago I discovered I had a great grandmother buried in Burlington. I really should visit her grave.
