Reading glasses to watch a movie. Shouldn’t be. Remember the famous scene in “Lawrence of Arabia” when the Omar Sharif character first appears as a shimmery squiggle on the horizon: only now he’s two blinking pixels. Shouldn’t be.
Any movie where the visuals are key (such as “Lawrence of Arabia”) should be watched on as large a screen as possible. Your average sitcom (or dialogue-driven movie, or whatever) can probably be watched on your iPhone while you’re waiting in the airport without losing much.
Eventually they’ll probably start producing content that’s specifically designed to be watched on tiny screens: lots of talking heads, or close-ups on single objects, whatever. Something similar to the way comic strip art changed once papers started printing them the size of a row of postage stamps.

For Janis, it’s the medium, not the message.

In the age of 60" HDTV, it amazes me that people love watching video on their iPhones. I have one. I don’t watch video on it.

I often find my wife watching a movie on TV where the DVD is on hand.

Maybe Janice wants Arlo to do a little neck wuzzling (and we all know what can happen after that!)

Arlo failed that one.

I rather watch a movie in either a theater, on a TV screen, or even on a computer, but not on my cell-phone, which is too small for my taste.

If this were my husband, I’d have smacked him with a couch pillow!!!

Yes, another in an occasional series of “Arlo kills the mood.”

Obviously not about the movie, then. TV stations always cut stuff out of movies so it’s better on DVD than on TV.

It’s an adult movie.

Arlo figures he can make out better if Janis has both hands free.

Dark Side of the Horse today is somewhat similar, on a larger scale. Why look at the small screen where there is a much bigger world to look at?
