Huh – must be the Jeep dealership I went to down in FL. They were actually telling me that the steering wheel was an option I had to pay for and that I had a choice of 2 styles. Told them to keep their Jeep and drive it . . . ummmm . . . into the sunset!
I do not laugh at this nor make fun of it. I am nostalgic because the last International Harvester Scout I bought (late 70’s) this picture here was after the base model! First choose the engine and transmission, axles, hubs, all drive train before body, doors, seats, and creature comforts. Then, rusting after 326,000 miles it did look like this picture and maybe me too as the salesman.
I remember buying a pick-up truck back in 1988 and the rear bumper was listed as “optional” – but according to state law you can’t drive a truck without a rear bumper, so purchase of that ‘option’ was mandatory. (Supposedly it was called ‘optional’ because you could get different kinds of bumpers)

ill take it just like it is! looks like fun! at least it’s rear wheel drive! V6 too? Headers?
