Mornin’ Bill. And Evenin’ to all my fellow west-coasters.
Welcome to the village to our newest female member. Ladie’s showers are in the main building, in the West wing. Dining room is also in the main building, but it’s only open on week-ends, and then only when one of us deigns to offer a menu. Bar is open 24/7 serving virtual drinks courtesy of our almost octogenarian, Slim. He makes a mean Brandy Alexander.
Rita, hang in there. I have a few friends who have recently been where you are now, and aside from some interesting “haircuts” from the chemo, they are all doing very well. I pray and trust that you will do the same. I know the fright factor is the worst part, but having your kids and Jack around you will help a lot. Please know that we (Michael and I) are praying for you as is my church family here in Vv (it’s the least we can do after everyone in the village was kind enough to pray for Kathy.)
Good Morning, Villagers,.Jan, thanks for all the encouragement!.I’ll be happy to bring a wonderful Zucchini bread to the buffet table this morning. a neighbor graciously brought another wonderful zucchini to us today, and I immediately turned into two loaves of bread…………….YUM!!!
Evening there, you who have arrived and those yet to come.Bar will be open until bedtime (mine). and will be open again tomorrow unti closing time (when I go to bed).I will be here Saturday morning to say high. and after that it is PARTY TIME AT THE DISTRICT TAVERN, That’s a real bar:-))
I am so excited!! I haven’t been this wound up about a B’day since I was a kid. I never, never considered the possibilityof some day saying, “Oh, I’m eighty years old”!!!I am so excited!
Forgot to mention: The dining room will be open Friday evening., with poached wild sockeye salmon, filet mignon. a seafood platter. All with the appropriate side dishes. Dessert will be a marvelous lemon merengue pie, which I’m sure, sounds mundane, but you have to taste it before judging it.
See you at the dining room tomorrow. evening. After dinner, it’s over to the "Toddle Inn for various sorts of libation. Rooms are ready in the hotel if you’re not in any shape to drive.Good night, sleep well. Bring an appetire with you tomorrow evening.
Hello to all..Old Sol is suppost to make an apperance today..I’m not awake yet, guess I’ll be back this afternoon after my brain has booted up..Have a nice day all..\\//_
Well, we had a setback with the house yesterday. I raised my offer but the seller came back and rejected it also. Then they said they are rejecting it because I intend to finance through FHA. Don’t see why that would make any difference. As long as they get their money, why should they care where I get the loan? But we’re not giving up yet. We’re meeting with the realtor this morning to discuss other financing options. And a friend has recommended a good credit union that we intend to look into.
Good morning, Everyone,.Slim……it is so good to hear you excited about your 80th!!What a milestone!!!We’ll be at your shinding with bells on!.david sellers don’t like to sell going the FHA route because they are sticklers about the condition of the house…….paint, conditions, etc., so your seller would have to sink a lot more money in the house to make it qualify for FHA on his part.
Slim, I absolutely loooovvvvveeeee lemon meringue pie! Nice tart lemon with a light fresh meringue, YUM!!
David, Rita is right. FHA rules are very prohibitive, and it’s not just the condition of the house. I can’t tell you how many sales the developers I’ve worked for have lost because of FHA rules and regs – buyers can’t qualify for stupid reasons, the seller hasn’t owned the house long enough, etc., etc., etc., ad infinitum. A lot of sellers just don’t want to have to deal with it. As always, my prayer for you is that God opens the doors He wants opened and closes those He doesn’t want you to go through.
Hi.I’m back and a little more with it, and yes Old Sol is shining bright in the sky..Irene is long gone but she is being compared to the 1927 flood which was the biggest reson for our current highway system. If you’ve seen pictures or old films that show cars bounsing in and out of deep ruts it’s probably old shots of VT..We are drying out, roads in southern sections won’t be the same for a long while..Well everybody go carefully..\\//_

The “Toddle Inn” is open for business. We serve drinks both intoxicating and non-alcoh0lic. No shoes, no shirts…….no admittance.
