Good morning, Villagers!Montana Lady, I’m glad you’re in good spirits and have your family by your side.
Saturday, I went to a DVD.Movie still show in NYCity. I had already arranged with one of the vendors – perhaps some of you know him – Jerry Nolan – to buy some DVDs, especially the DVD versions of the VHS tapes I couldn’t copy. I spent $220, but at least I sold Jerry a copy of my self-published fantasy fiction novel, “The Promise of Bisibi.”
I’m so happy I got “Revenge of the Musketeers.” It was a movie I’ve always wanted, but I didn’t know it’s name. I already have a VHS copy of an entirely different “Revenge of the Musketeers” (in French) which I couldn’t copy to DVD – a magnificently produced swashbuckler – I don’t know how they reproduced the streets of 17th century Paris.
Just now. I examined one of my DVD sets called “Zacherly.” I don’t remember ordering that set, nor have I ever heard of it. Has anyone else ever heard of Zacherly? It’s a 9-vo;ume set.
Good motning villagers..ML you sound in good spirits, and that’s a very good thing.I mentioned you in church prayertime yesterday as a praise that you came through your operation so well..David, I’ll keep my fingers. toes, and eyes crossed for ya..Arye, I quickly scaned IMDb and came up with a few possibilitys, IMDb is a good site to check in to movies and TV.
Good morning, Everyone!.dkram, thanks for your continued support! I see the surgeon this afternoon to have the staples removed. .david…..agree with you about Citizen Kane! Very well done!
Good luck with your house!.VB & Arye, good to see you both..Have a good Monday, Folks
Rita, I’m so glad you’re doing so well. Let us know the results of the lymph node tests! In the meantime, you are still in my prayers for a speedy recovery (although you seem to be doing pretty well in that department).
We bought a slot machine yesterday, a quarter machine that takes (and gives sometimes) real coins. Since M hasn’t changed his driver’s license yet, we had to give the store a copy of our utility bill to prove we live there. They can’t sell machines except the antiques to Californians.
JanCin….. They used to have slots in California. Don’t know it it was local ordinances, or state law. I havea memory.I couldn]t have been more than seven or eight, possibly four or five less. My father was driving us three siblings and ourstepmother down to Morgan Hill, south of San Jose, from San Francisco. We stopped at a cafe in South San Francisco. My dad gave me a nickle for a candy bar but, I wanted to put it in the slot machine they had in the cafe. Dad said I would lose my nickle and not get any candy but, I was adamant.Lo and behold, my nickle came back to me ten-fold. I don’t know what I did with the money, nor do I remember my dad’s reaction. How many people hit on their first try? It was decades before I tried another slot, and found they weren’t really friendly.
Good evening one and all. Beautiful day in the Ozarks today.ML: good to hear that you are doing well. You remain on my prayer list as well.
I met my first slot machine in Okinawa. About once a month I would take a couple of rolls of nickles and waste a day losing them. I never planned on winning and was never disappointed.;))
