‘Morning, VB! This comic is just amazing lately. Two great villainesses, lots of action, great drawings, it’s a pleasure to read it every day.

I see it in color first, then in black and white. I like both.

Give it to ’em Tracy and good luck.

Good Morning Bill and everyone else.

Had to get up out a bed to see today’s strip.

One to see how Dick and Liz are doing against the girls.

The second reason to get up was to see if it was still in black and white.

I thought I had just dreamed about black and white last night.

Looks like Liz is reaching for something with her right hand.

Just gotta shake the cobwebs and defend yourself, Lizz! Just gotta do it! Tracy’s in a bad way; it’s up to you! Yellow-hat man needs you!

That would be the world’s most… unpleasant… hug.

The ACTION IS AMAZING!!!

Liz’s hands and feet are now free. Look for her to make the fat lady sing tomorrow. That right leg with the spike heel, for example. This will be very satisfying.

I like the way Mina’s all black in the second panel except for her name tag.

I think it’s the right leg crossing over. Could be the left. Don’t hold me to this.

The action is awesome, but I want the colors!!!

Hurrah! Black and White for another day! I was so afraid that yesterday was going to be a one-shot deal, but it seems the people of GoComics have heard the cries of the majority here. Thank you, GoComics, thank you! Keep the classics looking classy!

The art alone is awesome without having to be colorized. This almost reminds me of Steve Ditko when he was the first Spider-Man artist, especially issues 30-33.

C’mon Liz. Its time to get all Emma Peel on her. Kick her a**.

Hurrah for glorious B&W! Mina’s silhouette wouldn’t look nearly as dramatic and menacing without the sharp contrast provided by B&W. THIS is how the dailies are meant to be seen!

I like the color comics—black and white just looks boring and blah, you know? I don’t find them anywhere near as engaging.

I like color! The B+W is dramatic, fun, retro. But I’d rather see it in color.

Gloria getting the best of Dick. Lizz about to get squashed by Miss Mountain Mina. Color dailies… Black & white dailies… I don’t care anymore! This is the good stuff!

On my comics page, it’s in B&W; but when I go to comments section, it’s colored. I like the color better. I didn’t even notice Lizz’s leg and spike heel in B&W. Mina is big but Lizz is smart so I’m looking for her to make her move tomorrow.

@Ray C,I think you have ‘a leg up on it’ …but which one?Eeny, “Mina”, Miny, Moe!Lizz finally will prevail, hands down, and that will be quite a ‘feat’!

Well the color is back. I see that Lizz is sporting a red coat and light purple pants today. So far the coat has been orange, brown, brick red, and fire engine red. Her pants went from brown to purple, and the shoes have changed color at least once. (sigh)

This has got to be one of the most campiest fights ever! I can’t believe these villains (or villainesses, they’re women) would be that stupid take on the law! They should’ve booked out the back door when they saw Tracy and Liz coming!

“Cousin Gloria” reminds me of DC Comics’ Granny Goodness. I wonder if her voice sounds like Ed Asner?

Us old folks like the black and white dailies.

Just like the old movies that were colorized.I still preferred the black and white versions.

Psycho is better in black and white.To Kill a Mockingbird is another movie that is great in B&W

The colors are back!

I’m in color at 2:20 PM CDT. Still fabulous! I wonder if Locher ever looks at this strip these days. First time posting a comment. I used to read just to see if it could get lamer and what the comments were.

I disagree, I think the color makes it worse, a thousand times worse, it washes out all the great line work that Staton has. And the GoComics colorist is very inconsistent and uses way too many browns. It also detracts from the brilliant color Sundays. Daily comic strips aren’t meant to be seen in color. Thank goodness there are sites which show the strip the way it is meant to be seen. Boo GoComics! Boo!

@idesama (and everyone else discussing color vs BW):

I first met Dick Tracy in the days of Chester Gould, and he, of course, drew his dailies specific for BW, and his Sundays for color. Harvey Comics reprint books went ahead and colored the whole week, and it was fairly successful. I can see your point about keeping the dailies BW, and yet I find the colored strips a little easier to read. It helps separate the different elements in the panel, so I can see more clearly just what is going on. I certainly agree that the colors should be consistent, if they are going to color them – coats shouldn’t change colors from one moment to the next. I guess they can’t please everyone. I just wish they had left the Sunday format alone, so we could see those beautifully colored panels in detail.

A point about the story here – what is that behind Lizz’s hand in panel one, that says “Do Not Touch” on it? Is it a magazine, a book, or a box of some sort? Is it significant? Any ideas?

Panel 2 is very well drawn, with the low point of view and the menacing figure approaching. Wow, Mina, what big hands you have! I like how Mina’s nametag is still legible when she is totally in silhouette. Gocomics was very hard to access today; I kept getting an error message.

I knew it wouldn’t last.

I logged in to see the comments posted since I last looked this morning and I see the color is back.

Also, Monday’s strip is now in color.

It was good while it lasted my B&W friends.

I asked a while ago, but never heard back……. is Mattie still lurking around?

this morning it was in dramatic black and white. this evening it’s in humdrum color. I want to turn back the clock.
