Wildcat Maris should know that play-calling is only as good as the execution. He could just as easily be thinking, “A run? Why not catch them off-balance with a pass when they’re not expecting it?” Guys like him are the reason I never listen to sports-talk radio.
Marty digs the school year to be in the know. Maybe if Bobby Maris was an All-Stater like Mildcat, Gil would have called a run. Nigel Gruff is not walking through that door.
In a surprise twist, Homeland Security is going to arrest Azal before he can attempt the field goal on a false tip from Brody. Then Brody shows up and looks like a hero.
Gil, knowing that Azal can’t kick worth a hoot, will call for a fake field goal, the holder will then fumble the ball and Oakwood will recover and take it all the way for a TD.
The placekicker has missed at least one PAT—unless he made 2 FGs they didn’t include in the storyline. That said, this is definitely 4-down territory, unless there’s not enough time to score from the 20 yard line.
Wildcat looks like this game has aged him. Either he’s PO’d that “my Bobby” is getting enough touches, or he’s worried about the threat of terrorism at the game. What’s the over/under on the number of times “my Bobby” is used anyway?

We all know the kicker will miss, but the story will be Wildcat’s reaction.

Do you think it’s easier for Marty to say “Azal Jaddou” sober, or after a few sips from the flask?

The kid in P3 wants to make sure he gets his $40 appearance fee.

I want Wildcat to demand to have a headset so he can call the plays into Gil. “Gil, do hear me! Run left GD you! Do you hear me!”

Azal can’t make an extra point but is trotted out for a game winning 37 yard FG attempt.

A 37-yarder is hardly routine in high school anyway.

Milford just bolted its conference and joined the Pac 12.

Not surprised, Cliff. When they couldn’t get their games on the Longhorn Network, there was no point in staying.
