Morning, Vagabonds. Yup. It’s Sunday alright. Yup. Yup.

It rained all day and half the night yesterday, thanks to Tropical Storm Lee. Boy were we glad to see it, but I feel for the poor folks who got the brunt of the storm.

    Here’s the link to Today’s Annie .

I don’t know what happened to my friend Omer. I haven’t seen him on Facebook for many days. Did I tell u I went to the Turkish Consulate on Wed. for the Bayram celebration? I was dressed in bluejeans because I had spent all day showing a Turk visiting from Miami on the Staten Island ferry and if I went home to the Bronx just to change I would have just enough time to turn around and go back to Manhattan. So when I got to the consulate I was so embarrassed to see that almost all the men wore suits and jackets. It was a very formal event but everyone was clustered around me to look at the wad of photos I had taken of Turkey during the past 40 years, including places in odd corners of Turkey that most of them had never been to. Everyone wanted to introduce me to everyone else and my attempts to speak Turkish helped.

Was up until after 3’30 this morning and didn’t get out of bed till about noon, Went on line, then lost the connection within a minute or so. Kept trying to get back on, but couldn’t. Kept telling me that the line was busy? Tinally I just left the “internet explorer” page on my monitor and proceeded to read the Sunday paper it took two hours of trying, then waiting while O read before it finally dialed on it’s own and connected . #^($#!!

Interestingly, I read the paper, and the Parade magazine, then started on the comics. As I read the second strip, i heard the computer dialing on it’s own! And it connected this time. Guess it didn’t want me to read my comics in the paper? :-))

Computers have three serious drawbacks. I think I might have mentioned them before.#1. They are made by humans.#2. Thay are programed by humans.#3. The main problem is that they are operated by humans.
