I did not use a calculator. If you break it down into sections – its easier. 17 times 20 is 340. 17 times 4 is 68 So the answer is 408. It takes longer, but it works.
Seems I’m not the only one that uses that type of math. Try figuring out the total cost of your shopping bill before you get to the cashier when the tax rate is 12% .

This one is actually easy. Separate into parts.
17*20 = 340.17*4 (or 17*2=34 ; 34 * 2 = 68) = 68.add the two results.
So the answer is 408.
