We need to remember 9/11 as a testament to America’s greatness, to American religious freedom, to how we are unlike any other nation in that we can be anything for anyone.

Kennedy was shot the day after I turned 5. I can remember seeing his kids and thinking that if somebody shot their Daddy, what if somebody shot my Daddy too. Didn’t think that their Dad was President and mine was a GS-5 at fleet accounting.

I grew up during the Vietnam War era. We had heroes then just as we did on 9-11-01.

I was born in 1947…..yeah, I’m a boomer! It was just a couple of years after the end of WWII. In the mid ’60s I joined the Marines and went to Vietnam!
