I’m sorry, but are city folk really this inept? My girls knew how to change a tire at the age of 12. They couldn’t physically do it, but they knew how and have since they got their licenses.. I hope this part of the arc is almost finished. It’s just sad.
I agree with Plods, especially when you remember that Claire’s dad sells cars. You’d think he would have taught her all about them at a fairly early age.
Plods, Nicole K, I also feel that way. I’m hoping this will take an interesting turn, in part because I can’t believe anyone is so dumb that they’d rather sit around waiting for help than unload the gear and change the tire themselves.
I do wonder though, if the spare is one of those silly one-time-use things, or a real tire. The first thing we do when we buy a new car (twice in thirty years, lol) is replace the so-called spare with a real tire.
Their are men in certain cultures that yearn for women with hairy legs. I think they are called Neanderthals.Has anyone considered that the lug nuts might have been put on with impact wrenches? There would be no way that these two would be able to get them off. You really would need Neanderthals to get them off. Have you seen the size of the wrenches they put in cars along with the spares. Short handles just don’t get it.

Real tires won’t fit in the space allotted for those saucers.
