Good morning brickhouse—the rest of the lads(Tarzanatics) are in the arms of Morpheus—even that restless Katman——Well as some of us learned yesterday, Artist John Celardo left our misty jungle on January 6th at age 93, as we view his work of the 1950s—may he rest in peace in the Valhalla of artists and greeting him there , Hal Foster, Burne Hogarth, Jesse Marsh, and others with pen and brush in hand, waiting to paint rainbows in the sky.

My condolences for the Celardo family. Big loss for all of us. I agree that the current artist for Prince Valiant is extraordinary. I am following the strip here: http://content.comicskingdom.net/Prince_Valiant/Prince_Valiant.20120108_large.gif

Jambo, gents!Mr. APOI & Mr. Sydman—-Amazon has the collected works of “Prince Valiant” Sunday strips in four fine large format editions spanning from 1937-1944. The next edition from 1945-1946 will be published shortly—-you can look it up on Amazon!Bwana “Q” I have just risen from the best night’s sleep in weeks—-must have been that great “Hell on Wheels” episode I watched at 2am.No Ito stowaway plot thank goodness, that kid needs to get back in the classroom along with Mr. Crispy’s brats. This rescue tale reminds me of “Rambo 2”.

Katman, quartermain, nightguant49, mona warner’s post reminded me of that ‘far side’ comic where tarzan is practicing an his first introduction to jane as he is swinging on vines on his way to her treehouse. In his rehearsal he is saying things like ‘what a beautiful evening, you must be jane, its a plleasure to finally make your aquantance, my name is tarzan.’ But when he finally gets to her, all he says is ‘me tarzan, you jane.’ Then it shows him slapping his own face in disbelief he said that.
