With his unanimous decision victory over an opponent 18 years younger than himself, Bernard Hopkins, at age 46, became the oldest boxing champion to ever win a major world title. Now... Any human to live to 107 or 108 is impressive. To have done so before the Industrial Revolution is amazing. To have done so with many decades of military service is unbelievable.

CFLs are more efficient, but they are promoted by what I call false advertising. They are promoted as lasting up to 8 times longer than incandescents. Of the first two I bought, one lasted one week, the other about a year or so. Then I got to thinking – up to 8 times as long really means you’ll never find one that will last that long, after all one week is – up to 8 times as long! I’ve yet to find one that paid for itself in savings in electricity vs initial cost – in spite of the promised savings.

The best thing about the CFL bulbs is that they contain that dreaded, deadly element mercury…run for your lives! The Sky is falling!!! We had a State Office Building that had a mercury Blood pressure unit that spilled some mercury and they closed the whole building down for hours untill they could clean up that deadly element. Had to call in the Hazmat team!
Years ago they did away with mecury vapor street lights.Now they put it in light bulbs used in the home where unsupecting humans live??

Years ago I worked at an auto/home radio factory. In the test lab we had two light switches – one for the fluorescents and one for incandescent lighting. When doing sensitive testing, only the incand. bulbs were on.
