I always said that cats kept mice at bay. My husband would point out that we had no mice. My reply? See, the cats are doing their job! When we had outdoor cats it was easier to make a case since we were brought “gifts.” Indoor cats, I’m sure, simply hide all the evidence.
I had a cat do something like that once. He sat on the seat behind me and wrapped his tail around me and across my eyes. The only problem is that I was driving 70 miles per hour down Interstate 10 at the time.
Our cat thought he was helping out, while installing a couch cover. after tossing him off about five times, he got the message we didn’t appreciate his help.

Our cat likes to leave dead mice where we’ll be sure to see them (or step on them!), like on the doormat or on the pathway out to the car.
