Wow! Team Tracy is a step ahead of most of us here! —And doing a terrific job! Will Junior eventually-Tracy become more involved at this point in Sam’s narrative?
@BillThompsonJust think of the alternate history HAD Tracy been shot rather than sapped. But in answer to your question, I’m guessing the crook had run out of bullets
Mike, Joe, and gang…….. you folks never cease to amaze me! I don’t think a college seminar in Tracy history would be this well done! If you ever did one, I’d gladly pay to sit through your lectures and slide shows! (Prolly flunk the exam, though!)
Who would think (back in the 30s) that Junior would go on to aid the police, get kidnapped, act as a spy on several occasions, AND travel, briefly live, and marry on the moon?
Then again, we’re automatically presuming that this is a reboot, remember this is Dick’s story as told by Sam. If he gets a detail wrong here or there, I say smile and enjoy the story. ; )
This is very intriguing storytelling. We have Sam recounting to Lizz what Tracy must have told Sam during their long career together. But then, Tracy couldn’,t have known that 88 Keys was across the street as the bank robbery was going down, or that two of his future adversaries were at a table behind him the night he had dinner with Chief Brandon, or that Jr. and Steve were within earshot of the sounds of the gunplay. These scenes are the author taking a step back and showing us things that the characters themselves didn’t know at the time. Very cool. “Meanwhile, on the other side of town…..”.
For those of you who live in Chicagoland, there’s a big party to celebrate Tracy’s 80th anniversary being held this Sunday, 9 Oct..It’ll start at 12:30p at the large-than life statue of Tracy in Naperville, IL..The main guest of honor will be Naperville native son and long-time TRACY artist Dick Locher. Jean Gould O’Connell will also be on hand..Further details here:.http://www.napersettlement.org/Calendar.aspx?EID=226&month=&year=&day=&calType=.Hope to see a few of you there.

It’s a bit surprising that the one hood sapped Dick instead of shooting him; after shooting one man, why stop?

Starting over fresh must be a new thing with old comic legends. I hear Batman and Superman have also started over again with day one as well.

Typo: Steve died in 1953, not 1951.

Tess and Dick know the other’s name. Each one can identify the other at the morgue. :o)

I hope so, at least a nice little nod that the fans will recognize. Should Tracy go back to the moon? No.

If I get a vote … I vote too skip anything to do with Moonmaid, etc.

In my humble opinion … that entire story line was Gould “jumping the shark”

Conditioning started early. Of course now, as we all know, Tracy can take a chair over the head and not even blink.
