My first thought was that Joy still had some of the originals, but they are remotely edible, and Burl would have eaten them years ago. @Leaky, have we ever seen their beds?

Good morning, fellow Crustwoodians!

Glad to see the Pennys own a reference book, even if it is apparently “The World Encyclopedia of Snacks.”

And yes(!), my favorite is back — the antimacassar labelled “Grease Trap.”

I hope you joke lovers already know why Mrs. Santa Claus doesn’t have more babies….

Cos (cough) I really shouldn’t tell you here.

Couple of things to wrap up from yesterday before I leave….

Grog — Ensure was always in a can when I used to pick it up for my elderly neighbor.I didn’t even realise they’d switched to a bottle now.

ElGuapo — nice to see you’re still hanging around. Thought you’d given up on Crustwood.

And GymShoe — yeah, I SAY “Good Morning”, but in fact I’m usually on my way to bed when I post here.

So sometimes, like now, at the end of my post, I bid you, and the rest of you, a good night!

By the time I get back here, it’ll be afternoon in Illinois, tea time at the Pennys’, but I’ll skip their HoHo’s and Ritz Bits and meet you at the coffee shop, OK?

We’re back at the Penny’s today…………YES……. WE are back at the Penny’s today……….. I think……. BUT what happened to the house across the street…….? ? ?

My eyes must be really shot. I can’t find the apostrophe on my phone to call Emergency Eye Care.

SusanSunshine—I’m touched you missed me (was on vacation, but GoComics let me catch up with everything Crustwoodian upon my return). I missed seeing your happy face.

Owensby and Dave (more specifically) have it – at least the version I know, but the others work too.

I just didn’t want to say it….. I’m such a delicate flower……(choke.)

Can’t even say that with a straight face.

Dave — LOTS of the posters here came over from Comics.com the day you joined — we’re all new.

Dinette Set was on GoComics first, so now that it’s back again, a few fans from before, like Marg and Squeaky, have come back to Crustwood.

Unless you mean you just started reading this strip at that point — I started in 2009 but I’m still having fun in the archives.

As for newspapers — I only said I couldn’t afford my local paper, which is over $200 a year, or 50 cents in the rack, so couldn’t understand how people could say “I can’t afford $12 a year, so I’ll just buy the paper instead.”

I’m really glad some people still subscribe, though. Without that, we may lose both comics and news organizations like the AP, unless they figure out how to make money online.

And GymShoe — spooky… but maybe it’s that Dollar store glass cleaner Joy uses! :)

Then again, there is a sort of grey shadow over the photos of Burl and Joy…

And we can see the bushes ……..
