I work as a cashier and I know how Danae feels for hours in a day where I HAVE to smile at everyone – even those customers who are royal pains in the arse. When smiling goes against your nature, it’s VERY hard. (Thankfully, it’s part of my real nature but not my work nature!)

Which is why, of course, most mental illnesses need the cooperation of the one afflicted to reach a cure—especially psychopaths. If they ever really want to be cured.

True real world domination happens from behind the scenes, in the wings of the main stage. You don’t need to fake sincerity from there, You just need a willing prop to stand in front of the foot lights for you. So, if you ever see Kate up in front of a microphone, check whether Danae is somewhere nearby in the shadows.

Panel 5 (or 2, depending on your method of counting) should be a tee shirt. The whole strip is lovely today, but those first panels are perfect.
