Boy: Monday, my dad said the toaster was driving him nuts. Tuesday, we had a new toaster and the old one was in the trash. I've never felt so insecure. Frazz: I bet you're easier to repair and more expensive to replace. Boy: I'm scared to interrupt him and ask.

Man! that so hit the nail on the head and reminded me of one or two childhood fears…we have so much more influence, evidently, on children and the young than often realized…

Most people that I know, were partially shaped by a casual comment by an adult when they were young. Was that clear? We should be aware of that when we speak sarcastically or even humorously to children.
