Oh, boo hoo…I say, what luck! Halloween is my favorite holiday….Candy corn, here I come!

The schools in my city have so many half days anyway, I always wondered why they didn’t just schedule one of them for the morning after Halloween.

Frazz makes a great point today – Halloween is NOT a holiday! Never has been!

At least it’s not on a Sunday again. THe Mormons had decided that there would be no Trick or Treating on Sunday Halloweens, but instead on the Saturday before. Well, that just ended up in 2 nights for Trick or Treating. Saturday the kids hit the Mormon houses, Sunday they hit everyone else

Our school district always has a Teacher “In Service Day” on Nov 1st so they don’t have to deal with kids on the sugar rush or withdrawal.

CIRCUS peanuts….!!!????I will do unpleasant things for circus peanuts….. esp the stale ones….MMMmmmmmm

If the circus peanuts were actually PEANUT flavored, they would go over big in my house. Also, I would GLADLY swap stupid Columbus Day for Halloween on the Federal calendar.

Yeah, something about those skimpy costumes. True and powerful magic there.

Carnuba wax: on surf boards, skis, cars, and good ear wax replacement if you have EWDS – Ear Wax Deficit Syndrome. You heard it here first, folks!

What does he mean it just works out that way this year? Do the kids have the day off because it’s a Monday?

No, the kid believes that, since Halloween is on a Monday, they HAVE made it a Federal Holiday and she WILL get the day off. Frazz is bursting her balloon. (Or smashing her pumpkin, if you prefer.)

When I was a kid, I was under the impression that December 25th always fell on a Sunday…

When I was in grade school we had a half day of school on Halloween and then came back from lunch in our costumes; the rest of the day was a party. This was in the 60s, btw.

Ah, but religious holidays GENERALLY are not Federal Holidays. Christmas is the one across-the-board exception, although in some States Good Friday is observed (if a State observes holidays that are not recognized Federally, Federal offices – U.S. District Courts, anyway – may close at their discretion).

Master, nothing is as bad as circus peanuts……but as a kid I loved ’em….BTW, where has all the hard candy gone?

Saw a tiny sixth grade girl, in a T-shirt that said, “I’m not short, I’m fun size!”
