The photo of three mourning women on the blog is actually kind of famous. It’s from the funeral of George VI, Left to right are: the new Queen Liz; the deceased king’s mother, Queen Mary; and his widow, Queen Elizabeth (later known as the “Queen mum”).
Synthesizer: this kind of gizmo is still made and i know people who buy them. Great like that makes the most wonderful noises. In fact a friend designed a new kind of module. You can see that there are separate 2-3" wide by 7-8’ tall black plates? Each of those is the front plate of a thing that wide by 3-10" chock-filled with noise-making goodness.
re blog… went to the “Millionaires Club” a few times in the 70’s… there were a few in Chicago…. the idea was you could eat and drink like a millionaire for one “low” entry price… that is if millionaires ate cheap buffet-type food and drank cheap wedding reception-type drinks….
