Poor Mayans. Their fowl practices have come home to roost. Their culture got scrambled by all sorts of hard-boiled characters high on the pecking order who poached the nest eggs they had gathered, and left just an shell for everybody else.
I read one of my Happy Hollister books once where they travelled down to Yucatan. The one little boy called the town “Itchin’ Chicken” instead of Chechen Itza. Cute!
