Here’s tonight’s guy and gal, along with my movie picks.DANNY KAYE….. “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”…………………………..A cose second was the “Inspector General”SIMONE SIMON….. “Cat People” I am pretty sure I was ten when i saw this movie. B&W Scared the heck out of me. There were times when I put my head down and covered my eyes. No actual violence but, constant tension and fear. Raised my head too soon once.
Hi all..I’ll cheer with you David, even though they’er not the Red Sox. ;-).Danny Kaye – I remember one titled “Knock on Wood”, that crazy car..Simone Simon – Didn’t know she was in The D&DW.Need to get 9 o-clock coming..\\//_
@Shirttail SlimI’m sorry about your COPD. I only got asthma when I was 35. I never smoked, but my co-workers did smoke. I use 1 pill a day plus to 2 sprays and am out of breath when I walk up the 41 steps from subway platform to street – my subway station has no elevator or escalator – if it did it would be vandalized daily.
Good morning, Gentlemen of The Village,.Danny Kaye has so many movies. But I think my all time favorite was White Christmas, followed VERY closely with The Court Jester. We were guests at a gala charity benefit for one of the openings of Fiddler on the Roof, hosted by Danny. He was really great in person..Watched a good movie last night (for about the 200th time).1940B & WCary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, Jimmy StewartPhiladelphia society comedy about divorce and remarriage.Musical score by Franz WaxmanDirector George Cukor.NAME THAT MOVIE
Rita, that would be “The Philadelphia Story”. Story behind the story: Kate Hepburn owned the rights to the play. She was advised to do so by the playwright (who wrote it for her). It was the only reason she was allowed to play Tracy because she was considered “box office poison” at the time even though she was the star on Broadway. The remake with Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra is almost as fun (“High Society”). I once watched both in the same afternoon and the dialog in some scenes – notably Mr. Lord’s speech to Tracy by the pool – are word for word.

Good morning, vagabonds. I haven’t been sending messages, but I’ve been reading your comments daily.
Montana Lady: You seem to be in great spirits. I’m glad!
I was supposed to get my flu shot, but I’ve had congestion (I’m asthmatic) and a lot of coughing, so I have to postpone it.
