    Actually fruit roll-ups weren’t bad.

I’m not sure what a fruit roll-up is, but it sounds delicious.

Personally, my favorite candy is something we have here in Maine called a Needham. Dark chocolate on the outside, and on the inside: sugar, coconut, and — believe it or not — mashed potato. A Needham is sort of like a Mounds candy bar, but much MUCH better.

Mr. Peirce, do you ever ink yourself into the strips as some other authors do?

Aren’t Fruit By The Foot Roll Ups candy? They’re a foot long and they’re really sugary.

One candy bar I really miss is Milkshake. Growing up in the ’60’s in Ohio we used to get those during trick-or-treat. Were they good… hmm-hmm.

I would not mind getting fruit roll ups for halloween. As long as they are not tofu!

Central Maryland has a tradition during Lent of making a pastry called a kinkling (or fastnacht to some) that looks like a jelly doughnut. No jelly, but mashed potatoes are usually added to make them moist……and yummy. Lincoln, you’d love them, and Nate would go ape for them. There would be powdered sugar everywhere!

He is right, though… it was fruit roll-ups. I think Nate was bringing him down the snack aisle and he got the most nerdy (“healthy”) “snack” there was. ;-) Granted, I can’t verify right now because the archive only goes back to May. :-(

I love fruit roll ups! Although Marty’s are probably sugar-free and fat-free and all that stuff, lol.

Fruit roll ups, Gummi Lifesavers and Mounds bars.

Don’t want to worry about nut allergies or choking hazards.

You’d be shocked how tasty it is. The potato doesn’t really provide any taste, it’s just a texture thing. It’s the coconut, the sugar, and the chocolate that supply the taste.
