Boy: Where are we going, Dad? Man: Well, I spilled nacho cheese dip on the sofa. So before she gets home, I thought it would be best if we found a place to take shelter from the fury that will be hurricane mommy.
I know this feeling very well. Once when I was a kid my brother and I knocked over a potted plant on the new very white carpet. We knew we would be in trouble so we scooped as much as we could but couldn’t get it all. We needed the vacuum, but it was put out of reach. Out of reach because we kept using it as a indoor wagon. Well, we decided to use the next best thing that we could get our hands on. The mop. This proceeded to turn a couple inch spot into a stain about a foot. We thought we were going to die. Really. We tried to hide it by putting a piece of cardboard over it but even at 6 and 7 years old knew that wasn’t going to work. This marked the ONLY time we ever called my dad at work with the emergency number. I still thank the Lord that he got home before my mom.
We still got punished, but at least we got our indoor wagon back… :)
