Peek-a-boo is more interested in the chase, I think. She (she is a “she” ?) would never harm one of those bushy-tailed pests. Ours love to chase ’em, but have never caught one.
Sister’s cat (see avatar) figured rodents were her raison d’etre. Had to keep her indoors to stop her from tackling raccoons. She tried to teach my nephew to hunt mice by bringing him live ones.

Squirrels hide the walnuts and then forget where. Some years later, there’s walnut trees growing all over.
