I know how Linus feels. Dress shirts still come with pins and cardboard. The stiffness of new shirts irritates me. I much prefer the comfort of worn shirts.
I hate all the tiny pins, the coardboard and the plastic they put in new dress shirts. I always have to spend at least five minutes carefully going over the shirt to make sure I don’t get pricked.
Linus prefers to wear striped T-shirts. It’s his trademark. Just like Charlie Brown wears those shirts with the zig-zag stripe. But anyway, why doesn’t Mrs. Van Pelt take Linus’s dress shirt, remove all the pins, iron it, and hang it in the closet? Linus needs it for all the Christmas plays he’s in.
I was so pleased to find an American made shirt that was folded the old way without pins, or tape. No pins to stick bare feet, or tape sticking to the side of the trash can. Its a great way to store shirts, and is less wasteful. I think more companies should do it.

I remember those days well. I think they may be economizing on the pins these days.
And I thought it might be because he didn’t like the shirt.

And what really ticks me off is that they use those special pins that are too short and too dull to reuse for anything else.

I’m always afraid of missing a pin, and one of my pets getting it.

I think Linus doesn’t want to wear a dress shirt, tees are so much more comfortable. So he used the pins as an excuse.

I’d say he’s probably out-grown it, but the Peanuts kids never grow up… (Thank Goodness!)

The last time I bought a shirt the pins had been replaced by tape. It was worse than the pins!

I always assumed that taking care of shirt pins was mom’s duty…so my new shirts often suffered a similar fate…
