Wow….. As my alter ego Goofy would say, “Gawrsh….. err… thanks, fellers..”
Lots of good ones today from everybody, though.
Dogsniff beat me to “noted”…
In fact, Gameguy, “duly noted” was all I had planned to say, and then after I wrote all the rest, I realised I’d never used it.
@Bigg and Beau (hmm… is that a men’s clothing store or a law firm?) — I wondered about the rouge notes too. I even Googled it to see whether it was some musical term I didn’t know.
I do think it’s funny that eighth notes signify music, so much so that ♪’s are used to represent melodies in text.
I think it’s just that the flag makes them ever-so-much more decorative than quarter notes, and not all systems support typing “♫”, including this one.

Might want to take note of that!

Something about this one rings a bell….But, I don’t like heavy metal music….

They’d heard he was taking notes!
To even the score, they knocked him flat — Flags flying, they gave no quarter…
But they weren’t too sharp — they forgot about the rest of the staff.
They’ll soon end up behind bars, singing a different tune.

Once again SusanSunshine needs to go into the comic business! GREAT lines!
All I thought to add to Guy & Rodd was:
(Weak muffled) ……duly noted.

I guess eighth notes are more recognizable in a comic drawing @ bigg- wouldn’t rouge notes be red?

those low notes always were killers

At least we now know For Whom the Bell Tolls…

On another note, this cartoon has a lot of appeal.

Does he have a (twin) brother who usually does that?

That’s the treble you get when your staff flat out fails to clean your bells properly.

I don’t remember his name, but his face sure rings a bell!

Madvirgo,
Do you mean “bowing motions”? Bowing movements brings up an odd mental image (fiber might help with that, by the way).

That’s my bell; can’t carry a tune either…………………

(Apologies – my inner eighth-grader couldn’t resist.)

Then theres the one about the armless Campanologist, I can’t remember his name but his face sure rings a bell.

And…. NightOwl, I’m all for inner eighth graders.
Personally, I thought my own pos would have been funnier (or at least kinda funny) had I stopped after the first line….
But my inner 8th (or 3rd) grader insisted on more puns.
And could somebody please explain the twins thing?
Which reminds me — if you see this, Larry, thank you for the comment on Birdbrains last week.
I know it’s been a long time, but it was the night before a very busy few days, and I was having trouble keeping up with my usual strips.
I do intend to try that strip again and I appreciate your explanation.

Thanks yet again, Larry!
And Dogsniff — you mean you only have to play it through twice?
A notable achievement.
