Okay this may be boring but I am up and like to pass on info that matters not one bit to most people.The weather rock hangs below a little arm on a string.The sign states somthing like this.1.If rock is dark,it is night.2.If rock is bright,it is day.3.If rock is dry,it sunny.4.if rock is wet, it is raining.5.If rock is white, it is snowing.6.If rock is hanging stright down,it is calm.7.If rock and string are vertical to ground,the wind is blowing.8.If # 7 is the weather,dont go flying.
In Lethbridge, Alberta, (Canada’s “Windy City”) they have a “wind gauge” that is essentially a 3’ steel ball hung from a pedestal on a 1/2" thick chain. It has a plaque that reads:When ball hangs at 22 degrees a Lethbridgian considers it “Calm”
When ball hangs at 45 degrees a Lethbridgian considers it “Fairly Calm”

When chain stretches a Lethbridgian considers it “Kind of Brisk”
When chain breaks a Lethbridgian considers it “Sure is Windy”
