It occurred to me after enjoying this strip for so long that I have no idea what the band Clutch Grabwell is like, so I checked them out on Youtube. (I’m slow to pick up these newfangled resources),
What really struck me is that I recognized the band members form the comic strip. Especially the vocalist. That kinda gave everything a different dimension.
The recordings I heard were too distorted to tell how the music was, but it appeared many people were enjoying dancing to it, which is the main thing.
Knowing that a lot of these things actually happened to Lennie is a large part of the fun in the strip. How many people in an office think they they could be filmed as as sitcom? It’s a universal delusion that one’s own life is funny — but Peterson shows how to do it.
