Yep, by trampling the slower mice and climbing over their bodies. It’s capitalism all over again. <snide comment, NOT meant to fuel political argumentation.>
American politics in a nutshell. But it still won’t work. It will for the mice, but not for people. Collectively, the American public isn’t as intelligent as mice.
We do not need another foreign element to unite us.Our childish stonewalling is enough for our country to handle right now. Maybe Wiley can see how this might end?
Had me laughing out loud! While everyone has been talking aboout the cat, haven’t you noticed Dr. Lazarus’ breakthrough in teaching mice to carry signs?
This is a perfect illustration of the current state of affairs. Tea Party v. Occupy Movement. Both groups want government to be responsible and representative of middle class American’s interests (at least until the Tea Partiers got coopted by the Koch brothers).
Scary – seemingly intelligent people actually believe this sort of garbage:
1. The rich “sacrificed” to get their nice things.
2. The poor refuse to work.
Personally, I believe that the only thing the extremely rich sacrifice is someone else’s beating heart on an altar to the ‘gods’ of greed. Work? That’s for POOR people who can’t afford caviar and champagne.
Teb, your justification may work for you, but it’s incredibly self-centered. Don’t your eyes hurt from all the squinting to avoid looking at anyone else?
Looks like the problem is that there is no route to the cheese for either group, but nobody seems to realize it. That sounds about right if this were a political commentary.
For all those ones you say are poor because they won’t work, there is a job advertised in my paper this morning. Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army. Pays 7.50/hr. Want to raise your family on that, Tab413? At least it is in the USA, and not overseas.
Actually, the variable is being introduced right now, in Europe. If Americans can’t overcome their differences and work together for the good of their country, and QUICKLY, they’ll be following Europe’s example fairly soon. You think your last civil war was messy? Wait till the next one!!
There is no way for the groups to get together, sounds like Congress all right. Now, the cat CAN step over the walls and eat both groups. That might not be a bad idea either. As to TEA party and OWS groups, considering both ARE (or were originally) asking for fairness in taxation, elimination of criminality in “public life” (and corporate), and sensible governance (not the same as “government”) they’re more together in principle than Congress.
The two groups in power don’t agree on 99.999999999% of issues, but the one thing they do agree on is making sure no third group comes in to disrupt the status quo. Unless that group has sufficent claws…er, clout to do so. And yes, both groups really are just a bunch of rats.
Wiley, I’ve noticed that the future sometimes changes the meaning of what we write, regardless of what we meant when we said it. Back in the 90’s, I wrote a song about all the harsh places in the universe. (10,000 degrees in a thousand mile breeze..) The point being, an Autumn afternoon on the planet Earth was pretty nice in comparison…One of the examples I used for a harsh place was “ground zero”. Back then it was the place directly below an explosion of an atom bomb. But now when I sing it, everybody thinks I’m talking about the towers in New York. Not much I can really do about that. And actually it works for me, so it’s not like I’m complaining……

If the mice unite, it will not help them attain the cheese but it WILL allow them to overcome the cat.
Of course, the improve the metaphor the cat should be controlling access to the cheese…
Pepijn Vemer Premium Member about 13 years ago
Isn’t that partly because there IS no route to the cheese for the left group? (Yes, I’m a sad SAD man to notice that.)
keenanthelibrarian about 13 years ago
“The Variable” sort of depends on where he wants to dump the cat.
Bittermelon of Truth about 13 years ago
Sorry, I don’t see what you are describing for the right group. They both are blocked by a wall around the cheese.
Incidentally, if Dr. Lazarus lives up to his name there will be bloodshed.

well if the mice can make signs then surely then can make a ladder to get over the wall while the cat is taking out the opposition
