Man: I bought a new radon detector, last night.
Man: You know, if you don't have one that's in good working order, you need to get one!
Brutus: Nah - I never exceed the speed limit!
Since radon levels will not change in response to transient events, in contrast with smoke and carbon monoxide, one does not need a detector. It is sufficient to send an air sample to a laboratory, once. However, radon and speeding are both hazardous enough to deserve awareness.
