I’m over last nifgr’s/yesterday’s sortie into the past, I’ll probably post the others sometime, but not now.The following bit of poetry was in the colomn I once wrote for a weekly in a Sacramento area town. While it’s written in “the first person” it’s not a true story but, rather a cautionary tale that those of you living in ursine country, up in the north- country (hi, ML) can relate to……While strolling through the woods one day,I chanced to find there in my wayA little bear who’d gone astray. And mama blamed it all on me!I protested to no avail,Just stood there growing pale,Then turned and ran down the trailTo take refuge in a tree!Mothers have always been the same I guessedWhenever their child leaves the nest. The passinf stranger’s the guilty pestWho’s lured junior from her knee!So i sat on a limb and philosophizedAs I marveled at mama’s wonderful size,Til at last she collected her delinquent prizeAnd still grumbling left to set me free!

    Morning, Vagabonds.

Slim. I think that’s your best one yet!

I started reading Elfquest yesterday. I had no idea it would be so good. Does anyone know how I can find a downloadable version?

    Here’s the link to Today’s Annie .

David, I love Elfquest. Richard and Wendy Pini are very talented. I have in my comic collection most of their Elfquest stories. I stopped collecting when everything became reruns. The original story line and Wendy’s art can’t be beat! I don’t know about a downloadable version, in fact I wasn’t aware of anything beyond the comic books and manga-style digests. I did hear rumors about a feature length Elfquest movie, but that’s been years ago now.

EDIT I just checked out the Pinis’ website, and they have (almost) all of the Elfquest stories available for reading on their website, but not downloadable. www.elfquest.com The one series they are not allowed to reprint (Wavedancers) I have in my collection!
