    Sorry, but the weight of experience is that man defaults to “bad”. Most people are socialized by a decent upbringing in early childhood, and internalize “the rules” so that, as adults, they (mostly, kinda-sorta) default to “good”. Lacking that upbringing, or in a really bad social setting, they end up as self-centered survivalists, if not sociopaths. You do choose every time, it’s true — but your choices may be limited, or your values may be lazy or distorted..Off-topic, isn’t the strip’s lettering style different today?
