MARY WORTH: When I was a kid and reading mary Worth in the New York Post, she was old enough to be my grandmother. Now I am older than her! How should that make me feel?
Apartment 3-G – After the wedding it’ll be stored away and never seen again. And 2 years from now, you won’t even remember what it looks like.Judge Parker – After all, a free guitar!Mandrake – Point well taken!Mark Trail – Don’t worry. Mark isn’t going to write his article.Mary Worth – Not much development in today’s strip.Phantom – Phantom has a good handle on this situation.Rex Morgan – What’s he going to do?Annie – Here’s the link to Today’s Annie .
PHANTOM: Kit speaks true words in panel 3.REX MORGAN: Looks like Niki will find out the location of the “party” and be involved in rescuing Kelly I have an idea that by the time he (and Rex) show up, Kelly will be ready to be rescued..MARY WORTH: I’d be willing to be that Mary’s card has already been used, most likely at a jewelry store.MARK TRAIL: I think Mark will write a story, but will not identify the location of the Valley. I also predict that Mark may have to influence the editor to remove any such identification from Kelly’s article.MANDRAKE: If the property has no value other than being a “crummy old ghost town,” then why make any offer at all? I think the concept of “highest and best use of the land” may be at play here.FUNKY W.: This town (Westview?) may be like my town, where a lot of important local civic issues pass or fail—as the case may be—due to lack of voter turnout. In a word, apathy…I think that is what Principal Green’s marquee sign is saying.APT. 3-G: My first reaction was that Cousin Ruby’s double-take on 11/7 had to do with the word “white.” In checking the Lovely Ladies blog, there is a mention that LuAnn has been married before (and to the older generation, white is only worn once). Marvee?
Judge Parker – Not really free since it’s payment for the lessons, but an exceptionally good guitar. A bribe? A way to spend time together and a good chance he’ll decide he like Sophie way more than Honey.Mark Trail – Mark will appreciate Doug’s argument but will Kelly? And there may still be more to discover.
Basically agree with all of David’s comments. Some brides are now renting dresses, just as tuxes are.
JUDGE PARKER: I have several (couples) friends who were high-school sweethearts—they were together as h.s. seniors and are still together as AARP seniors. Trust Sophie’s judgement for now and go easy, Sam…if Derek is lacking in character, I have no doubt that Sophie will figure it out soon enough.
@Florchi, Your first comment wasn’t there when I posted.A3G – I hadn’t thought about the meaning of a white bridal gown as a reason for Ruby’s surprise and perhaps anger. I don’t remember much from reading in the past, but I checked Wikipedia which says Lu Ann married an Air Force captain who was killed in Viet Nam. She briefly moved out of A3G and was replaced by another blond named Beth so there is a precedent. I wonder if Lu Ann has told Paul about her previous marriage or if it will be ignored entirely.

Today’s Dick Tracy: “I have a contact in that city. I think I’ll give her a call at The Daily Flash.” You might want to check out tomorrow’s strip.
