When we were trying to paper train our puppy, he would gnaw on the boards that confined him to the kitchen. To deter that, we coated it with tabasco. Soon we had a dog with a fondness for Tex-Mex.
And i have both cats and dogs who eat green chile … hot green chile. Neither horseradish nor wasabi would deter them if they really wanted it. (then there was the cat that used to steal my guacamole … but that’s another story)

(condiments) I like that Horseradish Mustard (spicy brown) from French’s. Also Tabasco in the potato salad deters lunch nappers.
