Frazz by Jef Mallett for September 23, 2001
Transcript:
"Huh. What's the difference between 'wise' and 'smart'?" "Come with me." "Frazz, if you went around the world, where would you go?" "Oh, wow!" "England, to see Stonehenge" "France, for the bread" "Madagascar, for the animals" "Nepal, with the mountains" "Guadalcanal, where my grandfather was killed" "Cape Horn, just to see what I'm made of" "Iowa, because I've got a cool aunt there..." "And home." "Now: Mr. Spaetzle, if you went around the world, where would you go?" "Well...right back here, of course." "I don't get it." "You will when you're wise."

Oh. Spaetzle owns Frazz!

Actually, I thought Spaetzle was “smart” and Frazz was “wise”. Personally, I’d take “wise” over “smart” (maybe because I lack wisdom so often) any day. So to me, I’d say Frazz owns Spaetzle.????

Seems to me that Mr. Spaetzle was treating it as a trick question and Frazz as a genuine one. Nothing to do with wise and smart.

Mr. Spaetzle perceives the question as a straight math question with a flat answer. Frazz actually gives the same answer, but with a lot of detours along the way.
