I heard this one as a bar bet… “Did you know the United States has had an unelected King?…” Pres. Ford was not elected to VP or Pres – he was appointed.

If Spiro Agnew had just paid his taxes, he would have become President! I wonder how often he thought of that in the years leading up to his death? He had 23 years left after he resigned until he died. Much worse than the $10,000 fine and 3 years of unsupervised probation for not reporting $29,500 in taxable income! As for his name, his father had it shortened to Agnew when he immigrated from Greece. It was Anagnostopoulos!
