Makes me wish Agnes had her name on one of those giving trees. I’d go pick her off and get her all sorts of weird stuff. This strip reminds me at this time there are a lot of kids out there for whom socks will be about all they get. Take time to buy and extra toy or book and donate it. Kindness from strangers can make a huge difference in the life of a child
Aww, that was me as a kid. Granted, I didn’t get socks until my age was 2 digits, but I never got anything that I asked for. Sigh… Maybe that accounts for me buying whatever I want now.
mom always finds the good socks. (and sometimes the crazy sockes) For about 3 years in a row, no socks for Chrismas. I had to write it down, and tell mom from January through December – I wanted socks. Got ‘em! Now I get a least one pack of really good, nice socks every Christmas. .I also have a friend who knits me a wildly coloured pair every year. .yes. I know. they’re socks.

With lumps of coal in’em.

With those boat size feet, i would say Agnes probably wears out a pair a week.

Socks are the least-loved Christmas gift you can give a youngster.

What a killjoy. At least let her have the illusion that she gets what she wants for Christmas.
