Netflix is passe? I haven’t even signed up yet. That’s a sure sign that you’re really old: when something is passe before you get to it.I have hundreds of old videotapes and will hook up the v.c.r. soon (just moved this summer). I will eventually move some of the favorite ones onto d.v.d., and I also intend to store a couple of old v.c.r.s for when they are truly antiques.
I know it’s the most expensive option, but if there’s a movie I want to see I want to see it on a 40-foot screen. Particularly if the visuals are important (movies of people talking in rooms are fine on a small screen). I have Netflix and make full use of it, but mostly for old movies (which I WOULD see on a big screen if I COULD), and catching up on recent TV shows (since they were made to be seen in your living room in the first place, nothing is lost).
Go to the movie theater? Where you have to suffer the lines, the outrageously expensive popcorn, the greasy upholstery, the sticky floors, the talkers and the noisy kid in the row behind you, and having to hold your pee to the end of the show? Where there is no pausing the film, no replaying, and no subtitles so you actually know what everyone is saying? NO THANKS.

Netflix may have a weird CEO but streaming works for me every time.

zedman222: I hate to tell you, but those old VHS tapes will deteriorate with use and become completely unusable in a relatively few years.

At least he didn’t say “let’s see a film,” because soon you can’t see real films any more.

If only the concession stand prices were more reasonable, I would.
