OK, my first thought on this one, was, man, it’s so contrived! But, have you ever seen a fifth grade hallway between second and third hours? This is actually a classic…..That’s what school is all about. Students seeing themselves in the lesson. Or is it Frazz who is getting “schooled?”
I dunno… if you really want to get philosophical about it, there’s a big difference between Sisyphus and Frazz here. The labor of Sisyphus was, by intent of the gods, pointless and fruitless. The labor of Frazz, while endless and repetitive, does keep the school’s hallways from being buried in sunflower-seed husks.
This is truly one of the funnier of the more thought-provoking comics I’ve read lately. It’s a little funnier as I also played God of War 2 recently and Sisyphus was one of the characters you ran into… but that wasn’t funny to see him like this is. :-\
It doesn’t have to match the myth point-for-point to be funny or applicable. Any task which is ongoing and seemingly never really done (lawn mowing, laundry, cleaning up after toddlers, painting the Golden Gate Bridge) works.

When was Frazz ever a blasphemous king who cheated death on many occasions? He is only a janitor/songwriter. What did he do to deserve this?
